A few days ago I was charged to submit a new fitting for the 5 star rated Aquagrand Resort, located in an amazing bay close to Lindos village on the greek island of Rhodes.

It is a luxury accomodating facility built around 10 years ago: it can house up to 300 persons and it is provided with a huge private beach, two communal pools (beyond the private ones outside the suites), four different restaurants, two bars, a spa/wellness area, an amphitheatre with private chapel for marriage celebrations.

The brief given was the design of an unobtrusive fitting for the different kind of suites and of the common facilities trying to take advantage of the exixting vintage and modern decor to complete with new italian made design furniture.

In the suites, looking a little impersonal, my purpose is to enhance a domestic feeling with a new color palette (ligth blue tones prevailing) and with new small furniture elements, chosen from Moroso and MDF Italia collection, drawing attention through their special features (both shape and color).

In the common spaces, instead,  I planned a general reorganisation; infact, in my opinion, some of them looked really mixed up, not in line with the resort context nor with the expectations of its owners, who, facing the island tourist bed places stunning increase, still aim keeping this structure on the highest class.

During the winter months, when the resort is closed, the new fitting will find its fulfilment, together with the usual current maintenance and the few updates connected with the new design.
